No we are not married but we have two children together and both our names are on the birth certificate so I thought this would be enough to satisfy them that we are together with children but not married. We were all born in the UK yes.
We plan on staying out there a while, not just for a holiday.
Can I apply for the visa first, then once it is accepted can I then transfer the £12,000 into his bank account? Or would this just be too obvious on his bank statements? I don't understand why I can't just sponser all 3 of them whilst we are out there as I will be the one working online? I don't understand why we all need £12,000 in the bank for this.... It doesn't make sense for most travelling nomad families to have over £25000 in savings....but makes sense for them to have a small cushion and means to support themselves whilst living there. I was also considering putting my eldest (6) into an international school, would this make any difference?
It does say also that although the visa is valid for 5 years, we would have to leave after 180 days anyway and come back in?
Would it just be easier for us to get no visa initially for a month, get a tourist visa and then boarder run and repeat? How long would this work for?

Why not get married?
Then apply. Might be risky but it doesn’t say you need to be married a specific period of time.
Your other idea. Apply then transfer to his account could work unless they ask in the future to see bank accounts. As of now not required if you leave every 6 months.

Yep not being married is gonna be the deal breaker, you could get the DTV's for the children but your "partner" is gonna hafta qualify for the DTV on their own

i do not think that cohabitation means anything in the eyes-of-the-thaiz and it's their visa 😮 All you can do is TRY to apply after you get yours approved
Worst case they'll deny it and you'll be out the application fee

Same as us.
I have workcation visa, applied for first.
Once recieved then apply for spouse and dependants.
Spouse had to have same amount in bank account as I did.
Kids are supported by a letter stating I am responsible foe their needs

Are you planning to stay in Thailand longer then 90 days ? If not you can enter on visa exempt 60 days and get a further 30 days extension at immigration, DTV isn't a holiday visa and requires conditions, see embassy website for information

You really need to outline your plans a bit and why you chose the DTV. Are you planning on spending a lot of time in Thailand?

It's it a holiday or are you planning to move to Thailand to live. This visa is not required if you are planning a holiday you will get 60 days visa free on arrival. Your post doesn't give enough information on what you are doing married children yours all same nationally???

You mention partner, but you didn't say spouse. Only a legal spouse will be recognized for spouse/dependant visa. You will need to show 500,000 baht for yourself, you can provide a sponsorship letter for the legal dependant children on their applications referencing your approved DTV visa number, your partner will need a seperate application unrelated to yours and show 500,000 baht, it's a gamble if a sponsorship letter would work for them, as you will need to satisfy the embassy regarding relationship. Likely you'd need to show a million baht to cover you and them in that case.

0 minimum. And if the OP wishes to sponsor their "partner" as iffy as that is, they will need to show 500,000 x2 and that's not even counting each child's 500K which they will probably allow via sponsorship. What doesn't make sense? Thailand wants financially independent individuals to come and spend money, the DTV is not an income tested visa, it's a liquid cash visa.Jazmin ***********

Depwnding on Category there will also be ongoing costs to consider too for visa runs, extensions etc. As we have seen on recent days the initial costs of obtaining the visa are only one factor to consider.Reply to

They're both Korean (non half Thai) successfully visited Thailand to legally register their marriage (they live in Korea).

legally registering and legally recognizing a marriage are not the same. When Thailand immigration allows a Non O visa for a same sex couple marriage then I'll be convinced it's accepted and legalized practice by the government.John *******

Some Thai embassies have been allowing non O visas for gay couples for a long time. Issues have been with extensions in Thailand. This was before the recent change in lawsWannikea *********

From my understanding Thai embassies (in some counties) followed local laws. So if gay marriage was law of the land in that country, they would accept paperwork. Immigration would then follow the law of the land in Thailand.Reply to
