TLDR : Answer Summary
The current requirement for insurance when applying for the STV (Special Tourist Visa) in Thailand seems to have changed to $20,000, which aligns with the requirements for the Thailand Pass. Earlier, the requirement was $100,000, and there are additional requirements such as medical clearance and prepaid lodging for 90 days. It's important to check the official Thai immigration site for the latest updates, as the STV program is set to end soon.

STV is a very restrictive visa. $100,000 insurance, medical clearance, prepaid lodging for 90 days at a time. And currently the program is set to end in September so unless you entered Thailand very soon you'd likely only be able to extend it one time.
