Hi People,

During Jan 2022, I'm traveling from Sydney to Chennai and transiting for 2 hours at Thailand.

Is this Test and Go method applicable for transit passengers too ?

Please help me with more information

Thank you.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The Test and Go method is not relevant for transit passengers since they do not enter the country. However, travelers transiting through Thailand must have a negative RT-PCR test taken within 72 hours before their flight and should also have COVID-19 insurance coverage of at least $50,000. It's important to ensure that the flight is booked as a single ticket.

Test and insurance is required. Must be booked on single ticket of course.

I believe Thailand currently requires you to have RT-PCR within 72 hours and $50,000 Covid insurance to transit.

This is from the Thailand Pass FAQ:

Thai Airways website also says the same. But they are not allowing passengers to board the flight if we don't have test and go package for 24hrs

maybe try to get a letter or something from the embassy

Transit means you are not entering the country. Therefore test and go is irrelevant.

But passengers were not allowed to board flights in Thai Airways as they didn't have the test and go package booked.

They were asked to reschedule flights and book 24hr test and go package

Ah I see. Let me explain my situation.

I have tickets booked form Sydney to Chennai on Jan 1st 2022 transit via Bangkok for 2hours.

Do I need to apply for 24hr quarantine tests package ?

that's probably because they were entering Thailand, not transiting on same ticket.
