Hey guys, has anyone gotten a DTV for workcation in a situation similar to mine? My situation is that I’m currently not earning a monthly income and haven’t had much income in the last three months. However, I have a strong portfolio showing what I do and sufficient funds in my country’s bank account.

Another question: what should I fill in for the place of issue? My passport is Japanese and was issued in Osaka, Japan. Should I write “Osaka, Japan” ?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The post discusses the applicability of the Digital Nomad Visa (DTV) for someone not currently earning a monthly income but who has significant savings. Community responses confirm that a strong portfolio and proof of ability to work remotely may suffice for the DTV application. There are no strict income requirements, as evidenced by other users' experiences. Additionally, there's a clarification needed for the passport's place of issue, with a suggestion to state 'Japan' since the passport is issued in Osaka.

Yes I got the visa with irregular income but I have a lot in savings.

Better to go soft power Muay Thai or cooking, Fight EVO360 Thailand - Thepprasit Boxing Stadium has all the paperwork and knowledge of the DTV. Makes whole process easy.

Would you consider this the best route to go if you plan on staying five years? Where do you have to prove that you were training at the gym for all five years? Thanks in advance for any information

Based on other people's experience, you might be better off applying from another country cos Japan is stringent (requiring interviews even)

thank you! And Yes, I’ve received the same advice from the Japanese embassy staff. Do you have any recommendations for countries to apply from?

LoveThai Hanoi or Jakarta. Heard Manila is pretty quick too

Your passport was issued in Japan, so write Japan.

And there is no income requirement, as long as you can prove that you can work remotely from Thailand.

Thank you for your answer and quick response :) That makes sense. And just of curiosity, did you get a DTV without any income?
Steve *******
LoveThai no, I had income in my bank statement, but was never asked to issue any proof of income.
