Hello group.

My situation is that i recently sold a property in my homecountry. I lived 10 years in another country where i was self employed. I just came back from there. 

Now after selling my property I wanted to do the muay thai training and apply for the DTV. 

In the embassy in my country (Austria) they told me its not possible without proof of income. I told them i have plenty of savings from the selling but they dont care.

Now i thought of applying from another country like Laos or Vietnam. 

Do they handle it the same way.

Anyone with similar situation? 

What can i do?

I really would like the DTV to do muay thai and also tonstay longer in Thailand and do other courses too, and I have enough savings to provide myself and i am not interested in working in Thailand.

They just want you to have at least 400k Bhat in a account to be able to support yourself while you are in Thailand, no employment requirement, I got mine without a job last year.

Thank you. But i meant on the application for the DTV. I will do soft power miay thai, but in the application i have to put the ocupation and anual income. I also have more than 100k of savings, but I am worried to put unemployment and nl income. Also because its not what i am. I had a buisness in Argentina for 10 years and now i am back in my home country, i sold a property and want to go to Thailand now.

I am a Technician, but I was out of work at the time. I make over $100k a year though.

I spent 7 months in Thailand last year with no issues, soft power activity was Thai cooking classes. I went back this year in April and they asked to see my Visa upon arrival at the Airport. I had no issues with reentry.

Typical ridiculous. There is no income requirement for the DTV. And asking you to generate income on a soft power DTV while in Thailand might even be asking you to work on a visa not made for working. But what else is new. They have no idea about their own rules and there as no authority to hold them accountable. Laos should be easier to deal with.

I understand that they want proof for the remote work DTV, but nor for soft power.

I hope in Laos they dont adk for that.

thank you. I thought about doung the application in Vientaine, Laos. But i am confused if it is anywhere that they want the proof of income, i understand for the remote work, but for soft power? Especially when I can proof enough fundings for the time in Thailand. Why is it better to have an income for example of 2000 dollars a month than having the amount of a property sold?

Doesn't make sense to me.
