Can I use payslips from my main job for a remote work DTV visa if my side hustle isn't making money?

Tricky question:

I work my main job onsite at the moment.

I have a remote side hustle business that does not (yet) generate income.

I am well of so I can survive in Thailand for years.

The question is, when I apply for remote work DTV, can I show my main onsite jobs payslips instead of my remote business as it does not generate income?

Or do I actually have to make some money from my remote sidehustle job to get the visa? Meaning can I show payslips from another job than the one I will use to apply for the visa with

(I will quit the main job when I leave for Thailand)

Thanks!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The question revolves around the eligibility criteria for applying for a Digital Nomad Visa (DTV) in Thailand, particularly if one can use payslips from a primary onsite job to support their application while transitioning to remote work that currently generates no income. Responses indicate that there is no strict income requirement for the DTV, suggesting that providing documentation related to the remote job might suffice, alongside evidence of other relevant work. Some suggest drafting a cover letter to clarify the situation.

Why not draft a cover letter explaining the situation as you did here?

You need a record of making money from remote work to apply as a digital nomad. You could sign up for a soft power activity and get the visa that way. You can still do remote work and try to earn money later. If you have enough savings to live for years then the activity fees will be very affordable.

Here is no income requirement for the DTV so why show payslips? Show deals of the remote job, company papers, employment letter, portfolio of work etc

Anonymous participant I will ask my pal what he provided in London but pretty sure it was company documents, company tax return and letter stating he could work remotely. Different requirements in different places and they seen to change without notice. Would they not pick up your payslips are from a different company you are applying to work remotely for?

seems to vary. And yeah that is the question, what will they say if I display different pay slips. Might not care at all or they will deny me directly. It’s quite a big bet paying the €400 fee and not even being able to provide what they have. I’m not into graphics design either, so I can’t really display what the side hustle is even if I wanted to.

Most people actually do remote work so my situations is quite wierd because my side hustle isn’t really there to make money, it’s more of a hobby project. However it is still a registered company in my name, but I probably won’t make a buck on it.

Anonymous participant As I said I know axguy with a UK company and applied there. Pretty sure he did not show payslips. As the owner/director he wrote a letter stating he could work remotely. Showed company docs and a tax return for the company

”Additional documents

4.1 for a DTV Workcation : (1) employment contract or employment certificate (2) company registration documents (3) proof of salary slip/income for the last 6 months *all translated into English*”

There is no need for a spesific amount on the payslips but there indeed is a need to show payslips
