๐Ÿ“Œ Question about applying for the DTV (Digital Nomad Visa)

Hi everyone, Iโ€™d like to ask for some advice ๐Ÿ™

I hold a French passport and Iโ€™m planning to apply for Thailandโ€™s DTV Digital Nomad Visa.

Iโ€™m not sure about one thing:

๐Ÿ‘‰ Do I need to apply only in my nationality country (France)?

๐Ÿ‘‰ Or can I also apply in a country where I hold a long-term resident permit?

๐Ÿ‘‰ Or is it possible to apply at any Thai Embassy/Consulate worldwide?

If anyone here has personal experience with this, Iโ€™d really appreciate your insights. Thank you so much!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The DTV (Digital Nomad Visa) application can be completed in France or in any country where you hold a long-term resident permit. However, applying at any Thai Embassy or Consulate worldwide is not allowed, as some locations will reject your application if you are not a resident or do not meet their specific requirements.

Some Embassies want you to be a resident, others just to simply be present in the country at time of application.

First of all, DTV stands for "Destination Thailand Visa".

You can apply from France, or any country where you hold a long-term resident permit.

You can NOT apply to any Thai Embassy/Consulate worldwide. For example the Thai consulate in Los Angeles, Hong Kong, Japan, UAE, etc will definitely reject your application, even if you were in those countries.
