What are the requirements and tips for applying for a Digital Nomad Visa in Taipei for an online English teacher from Taiwan?

Hi all asking on behalf of my partner who isn't in the group.

She is from Taiwan and wants to apply in Taipei. She has the savings, but works online teaching English and other freelance bits and pieces (a few hours a week for two companies), but the majority of her income is from the English teaching. She makes about 40-60k THB per month depending on the month.

The English teaching is through one of those freelance platforms where you post your profile and rate and students can find you. I think they're classed as freelancers rather than employees.

I know they ask for an interview in Taipei and apparantly also a motivation letter, and I assume one question will be why do you want to go to Thailand to work? Any tips on how to answer this? Or any other general tips for applying in Taipei?

We're a little worried as her income isn't as high as lots of the people who apply but I know they don't have a specific rule for income and it's still above the Thai average so should be OK?

Her income is fine for approval in Taipei. I did not write a motivation letter as such when I applied in Taipei. I wrote a paragraph in a cover letter on why I wanted to go to Thailand . and how the DTV will help etc. Chatgpt gives very useful tips on what to include. Taipei is big on income evidenced on bank statements. There are a lot of posts on applying in Taipei in the threads which give loads of tips. The interview was s not too bad In my case, basic questions on job.

Her income is fine as long as she can show the 500k in the bank as well. They prefer she work online instead of taking a job in Thailand. Thailand doesn't really like foreigners working here locally. I would also add a cover letter explaining her situation, and express that she does not work for thai clients and under no circumstance will take on any thai clients or perform english teaching within thailand and only remotely to non thai persons.

The legal text regarding the DTV does not require / specify any minimum monthly income. As long as she can demonstrate the equivalent of 500k THB in savings the financial requirement of the DTV should be met. Also, her teaching online should adequately demonstrate remote work. Screenshots of her profile on said teaching platform should work. As for the content of a motivation letter, maybe someone who went through that embassy can chime in.
