Is there anyone who has been to CW (Chaeng Watthana Immigration) to apply for non-o marriage visa (90 days) recently, can share what I would need to apply? I checked the immigration site and the list was apparently from 2022 and it also looked quite confusing to be honest.
I just sent my current Passport to my Embassy in Bangkok to request a new one, as I have only 2 blank pages left in it and planning to travel to a few different countries in the upcoming months + renewing my thai visa extension (Thai spouse), which, as we all know, takes a whole page or 2...
My thai visa extension based on marriage to a thai spouse is in the old passport (obviously!) and expires at the end of October. I will probably get the new passport within the next 3 to 4 weeks (probably mid-september).
My question is: Once I get the new passport (along with a letter from the Embassy that asks Thai Immigration to transfer my current visa to my new passport), do I need to go immediately to Chaeng Watthana Immigration, or can I wait until it's 45 days until my current visa expires, so I can 1) transfer the old visa; and 2) request a new extension at the same time?
Kind of a weird situation, I don't know if anyone has ever been in this situation? Thanks in advance for your help! Cheers!
Hi all, I have an appointment this week at Bangkok CW immigration for my first Covid extension (I'm on a 60d TR + 30d extension). Is it confirmed that the first Covid extension is counted from the date where you apply and not when your current 30d extension ends?
I'm asking as my current 30d extension ends on 7 Feb and if I go this week, I would give 17 days away. So considering taking the risk and wait until 25 Jan or 4 Feb (in case they extend the Covid extensions)
Hello, I'm pretty sure this info is somewhere in the posts on the group but the search function seems quite unhelpful. If there is a recent post with this info, please kindly refer me to it :)
My first 1-Year Extension of Stay Based on Marriage will expire on October 31 and I have to go to Bangkok Immigration at Chaeng Watthana to apply for a new extension. I was wondering if you could point me to the list of all required documents at this time, because I don't even trust that the info is up to date on their website.
I have the 400,000 THB in a bank account, untouched since the first extension. Just need to update the bank book in the morning and get a certification letter from the Bank, but would be grateful for an exhaustive list of all that is required. I think I need to get a fresh copy of the Kor Ror 2 (wedding paper) from the district office as well, but not sure how long the document is valid once you get the new copy.
Hey guys, anybody recently done the emergency Covid extension at the new Muang Thong Thani immigration? I have a letter from my embassy but would just like to know what the documents are that are required? Thanks
Lesson learned today! Always check this site before going to immigration. We are US citizens renewing a 60 day SE tourists visa for an additional 30 days.
A few days ago I saw someone post how easy it was to go to Chaeng Watthana immigration. So I figured it's only a 25 minute grab ride, why not go there. Plus they mentioned they didn't ask for TM30
After a debacle trying to get a grab to pick us up, we go there and filled out our paperwork at the immigration office, and have all the documents ready to go. We get our number and wait in line. Then it's our turn. We only had to wait 15 minutes from getting our number to being seen!
Then I get to the agent who tells me I have to go to the Nonthaburi immigration office since that is where my address is registered at. So then we take a grab (over 200 THB later) we arrive with documents in hand, and they ask for the TM30 documents. The one item we didn't have since I knew Chaeng Watthana didn't ask. We then go back home and get in contact with our Airbnb host. Now they will fill out the documents we need this weekend, and we will go back Monday to get our extension.
Long story short, if we would have checked that we needed to go to Nonthaburi first, this would have saved us baht for the grab rides, and a headache!
Just in case anyone is renewing at Nonthaburi in the near future, don't forget your TM30 form with you.
Hope my hassle helps people in the future!
Oh well, this will be a good article for our website. haha
I lost my passport and just received my new one so now I have to go to Chaeng watthana immigration to transfer visa stamp. Is it the same queue as for the 30 days extension ? Is it possible to manage to make it in the afternoon as I have Thai class every morning ? Thanks for your advices 🙏🏻
