Question: Extensions of Stay to stay bases on marriage to a Thai citizen.

I heard that some immigration offices are asking now for a proof of marriage letter by the yearly extension documents. Is that the case for the Chaengwattana office? And if so, what and where to get that kind of document?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion highlights that for extending a stay based on marriage to a Thai citizen, the Chaengwattana immigration office now requires a recent proof of marriage letter, known as Kor Ror 2, alongside standard documents. This confirmation can be obtained from the local amphur where the marriage was registered, and must be dated within the last six months. Forum members confirm the necessity of this document and advise visiting the office in advance to ensure all required paperwork is prepared.

Jeezus H Christ this post turned into a clusterfuck :O

I deleted comments people and sorry some were on topic but embedded in ones that weren't so they got deleted too.

you and your thai wife should make the trek TO Chaengwattana BEFORE you want to get your extension so you can get the hand out and ask if there's anything not listed on it that you need. <- It is on you if you don't do this and you come up short for the correct documents

Secondly YES I can confirm that you WILL need a recent (within the last 6 months( Kor Ror 2 marriage certificate) AND as people correctly stated you CAN go to any amphur and have it printed off for you for a minimal fee.

It looks like this (a form ALL in thai) ;

Go to the local Aphur and they will give you a certificate to confirm that you are still married. Samut Prakhan ask for this every year from me. Despite having the rose colored certificate they still want the yearly one also

The second document you speak of is a photocopy of the marriage registration entry in a large inventory kept at the Ampeur Muang offices of where you got married (i.e. the district admin offices). They gladly give you a copy for a few Baht. The wait might take a while. This confirms the issue of the 'Certificate' you already hold.

I think it's called Kor ror 2 or something like that. My wife gets it yearly from where we got married. Samut prakarn started asking for it a few years ago. I think it needs to be less than 6 months old but she just gets the day before we go in to submit extension docs (put with the marriage docs like the image in above post).
