My husband just got Non O marriage multiple visa for 1 year from USA. ( visa validity 10 May 2022- 9 May 2023)

1. Enter Thailand in June for 6 months

Quick question if we enter in June and stay for 90 days. When He will has to report his 90 days for stay for another 90 days. Total stay is 6 months.

2. Leave Thailand end of December 2022

2.1 Then we decide to go back to US, do we have to apply any re entry before he leaves Thailand?

2.2 Can he enter Thailand again in February 2023 from US using this visa?

Thank you very much ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ™

TLDR : Answer Summary
The Non-O marriage multi-entry visa allows for multiple entries into Thailand within its validity period, but users can only stay for 90 days at a time per entry. If the husband enters Thailand in June for 6 months, he must report or leave before the 90-day stamp expires. If he leaves Thailand at the end of December 2022, he doesn't need to apply for a re-entry permit to exit, but to return in February 2023 using the same visa, he must do so before the visa's validity runs out while also considering the 90-day single entry period.

IF he decides not to exit the country after the 90 day stamp is running out he has two choices, take a 60 day visit thai family extension at the immigration office for 1900baht OR apply for a year extension by meeting the requirements of 400K baht in a thai bank account in his name for 2 months.

Those are the only 2 extensions available to him.

Hello Tod, my husband is in the same situation as you mentioned. He entered Thailand on multiple entry non o marriage visa. He stayed 90 days and then got 60 days thai family visit extension. His extension is about to end on May 30. Can he go do a border bounce on the borders and get back in for another 90 days using the same visa? Or should he fly to other country and apply for another non o marriage visa? Please advise, thank you!

totally can go to any open land border, stamp out of thailand, stamp in to another country that's open (meeting those entry requirements), stamp out and stamp right back into thailand (meeting the thai entry requirements) and he will get another 90 day entry stamp.

Before covid it was a popular visa because it was easy to go to the border stamp out and back in for another 90 day stamp. now that it's getting easier to get in to other countries and back into thailand I think it will be popular again

I think you and your husband misunderstand how that visa works ๐Ÿ˜ฎ And just to be sure this is a visa issued based on being married to a thai national right?

A year-long, multi-entry Non-Immigrant type O visa is VALID for a year from the date it's issued <- meaning you can enter/exit all you want during the validity of the visa

BUT

You don't get stamped IN to the country for a year on that visa. ๐Ÿ™

That visa gets you a 90 day entry stamp each entry, when that 90 days runs out you exit/re-enter the country to get another 90 day entry stamp. You do that every 90 days for the validity of the visa.

There is no reporting on that visa because he cannot longer than 90 days on any of the entry stamps he gets from the visa

I was totally confusing I thought it will allow me to stay for a year.

@Jo *******
nope, 90 days at a time that's how all regular type year-long, multi-entry Non-Immigrant visas work (Type O, B, ED, etc)

the VISA is valid for a year, the entry stamp you get when you stamp in from the visa is for 90 days.

@Jo *******
just don't want you to stamp in, not look at your entry stamp and end up on overstay is all.
