Immigration Police of Satun just check my passeport. Didn't speak with me but with my thaï friends. But what they translate to me is after 31 of July if your passeport can still run and that you have no flight to home they will extend visa in immigration office for 1 month..

For thoose who border open think we have to go home....

TLDR : Answer Summary
Recent updates from the Immigration Police in Satun indicate that if your passport remains valid after July 31, and you have no flight back to your home country, you may be eligible for a one-month visa extension at the immigration office. However, there is uncertainty regarding border openings and further immigration announcements, as many expats are in challenging situations due to travel restrictions. The community is keenly discussing their options, expressing concerns about lacking a home country or needing to find alternative countries to travel to.

Dont pay attention to anything that is said until the government announces it.

Immigration officers know nothing about what is going to happen after the 31st as the government hasnt even decided yet.

but why there’s no pre announcement, stating approximate when the final announcement will made.. it’s not a easy thing to exit Thailand in 1-2 dates.. unless there is a visa run

they announced the amnesty literally days before the end of april, telling people if there visa expired after the 26th of march the were on amnesty, after people had been queing at immigration all day for weeks to get extensions they didnt need.

Things in Thailand are done slowly or at the last minute.

Plus this is a very big decision on what to do next.

I suspect they will either announce something on the 15th july or around the 20th.

Troy Martin My guess is that a lot of people in Thailand are in that situation. I am one of them, but don’t really have much interest in returning to China even if the borders were open to non-Chinese residents.

unless you can qualify for a long time visa in Thailand...you will need to either go home to your home country or find another country who will accept you with current COVID restrictions.
