What are the new Bangkok Bank policies regarding visa renewal funds for expats in Thailand?

Heads up to those who are with Bangkok Bank. Starting today they require you to block 400k/800k (depending on your visa type) 4 months prior to renewal even if immigration is asking 3 months. If not they will disclose documents for visa renewal only by making you sign a paper where you pledge to keep the amount for 4 more months.

TLDR : Answer Summary
Bangkok Bank has introduced a new policy requiring expats to maintain a balance of 400k or 800k THB (depending on visa type) in their accounts for four months prior to visa renewal, despite immigration only asking for three months. If this amount is not maintained, the bank will only provide documents needed for visa renewal after signing a pledge to keep the funds for an additional four months. This policy seems to exclusively affect Bangkok Bank, leading to confusion and frustration among expats as it does not align with existing immigration policies.

AND as I suspected, this turned into a total sh*t-show just minutes after letting it on the group

People this is happening at Bangkok Bank branches and there are NO reports it's happening at any other bank company

Also this has nothing to do with immigrations policy on seasoning of funds this is a BANK policy ONLY

We are DONE

Surely this is irrelevant?

Immigration require a certified year's bank statements, passbook (where applicable) and the letter certifying the balance.

@Lester ********
this is a BANK policy (bangkok bank) and has nothing to do with immigration policy on seasoning of funds to get the visa/extension
Greg ******
This does not look or read like a real bank document. “Do not bring money FORM OTHER to put in the bank account.” ???
