Do I need to provide my monthly pension account details for a retirement visa renewal if I have a new bank account with the required balance?

I have an 'O' retirement visa due for renewal in Chiang Rai next week which for the last 7 years I have shown evidence of B65k+income every month. However, 5 months ago I opened an additional and separate account with a B800,000 balance and the amount has remained the same ever since. My question is that because this new account has only existed for 5 months, will I still be required to show the Immigration office details pertaining to my monthly pension account for the previous 12 months? Your advice would therefore be much appreciated, thank you.
Answer summary
The user seeks clarification on whether they need to submit details of their existing monthly pension account for their O retirement visa renewal, given that they now have a new bank account with the required 800,000 baht balance, which has been maintained for only 5 months. Various commenters offer advice suggesting that the new balance might suffice but recommend checking with the local immigration office for specific documentation requirements.

Bangkok Bank will not provide the required stamped documents for immigration unless its there for four months. The rest of the banks will probably follow soon. Your five months is fine, go to the bank and get offically stamped statements.

Just the 800k by itself will be fine

I recently visited the chiang rai immigration at the "central" location.. the immigration officer requested copies of the bank book Going back one year, along with K banks document Going back 6 months.. I do not know if every officer will request the same at this location..she suggested Going to the post office inside Central..

PM at CR IO they require that on the day you extend/renew you update the account, deposit 100 baht, get your account updated and get your stamped letter and statement on that day.

Takes about 20 mins.

Simply ask your local office

It would seem (if you've been doing the monthly transfers) that you have the option to meet the proof of funds via monthly international transfer OR by banked money method..

If you're going to use banked money method the 800K has to be in the account for 2 months before you apply for the yearly extension, once the extension is granted you need to keep the 800K in the account for 3 more months and after that the balance can't drop below 400K the rest of the year.

If you're thinking to switch to banked money method this year I would go talk to them and see if they wanted to see the transfers coming in (up to the 2 months before you are required to have the 800K banked) or not
