I got my retirement visa last year and it’s due to renew in a couple of months
I put 800,000 baht into my account for my visa
I’ve just been told I should have kept it in the account for 3 months after my initial application last year . I wish the agent would have told me this .
Is this correct
She now tells me not to worry as giving her 25,000 baht she can resolve it . 🤷🏻♂️

TLDR : Answer Summary
The requirements for maintaining a retirement visa in Thailand state that you must hold 800,000 baht in your Thai bank account for a minimum of 3 months after the initial visa application. After this period, the amount can be reduced to 400,000 baht, but it must return to 800,000 baht at least 2 months before your next visa extension application. Many comments suggest that the original poster's agent may not have provided necessary information about these conditions. For those who have not complied, options to rectify the situation include paying an agent a fee for assistance or possibly applying for a new visa outside of Thailand.

Probably cheaper and easier to start off fresh by starting at square one buying a new Non-O at a nearby consulate. You can check with a few of the big player agents in Pattaya for best pricing. Not sure if you're liable for an overstay fine for not following the minimum funding terms of the extension.
Unless you have a history of being an arshole at local immigration, just pop in at your local office and start the application, they'll let you know you messed that up and may require additional facts, evidence, and explanation but they will work with you if you have been in good standing and not abused the system before...maybe an additional fine...but in no way would I be paying someone 25k to do it for me when it can be done at the counter by yourself...although maybe not so easy in downtown Bangkok...if you want to use that 25k buy a couple used motorbikes for the village kids...lol
My immigration at Hau Hin stapled a note informing you that B800k must stay in your account for a minimum of 3 months . After that you can reduce it as long as B400k is still in your account . Two months before renewal it must return to B800k .
Do you mean you got the Non-O 90 day visa at the end of last year, and you are now about to extend it for the first time, or did you already extend around this time last year?
If you already extended once, and don't want to give 25k to the agent who didn't tell you everything to "fix it", skidaddle over to Laos, apply for another 90 day Non-O while there, and start over again.
Make it a holiday, and don't reward agents who don't tell you everything you need to know.
requirements according to the standing police order. You did not comply with the rules for the upkeep of the deposit, you technically went into "overstay" when you let the deposit fall below 800,000 THB, so now you need to pay an agent, and the agent pays the Immogration to ignore your mistake
if you failed to follow the seasoning requirements you wouldn't get the extension issued - So yes it’s a catch 22 - pay the “ Agent “ to assist or
exit the country get off this current extension and either apply for a new Non-O visa outside the country at a thai consulate or come back in free stamp and apply for the new Non-O visa inside the country at the immigration offices below ⬇️

They Will do the Non-O extension provided you have a Thai Bank and have the 800K there for the right Amount of months and other requirements.
3 months after and not below 400k for the rest of the year then back to 800k 2 months before applying for the next extension. If you didn't meet that you're stuck with an agent
Darren Alexander but the OP is on an extension so cannot simply apply for a new Non-O as he will have to exit the country to get off the current extension
Penny Nave there is no fine if the requirements for the current extension of stay have not been met, the new extension will be denied and the OP will have to leave and start over with a new Non-O
