The ongoing discussion revolves around the current quarantine measures for travelers to Thailand, particularly the mandatory 14-day hotel quarantine and associated costs, which have raised concerns among potential visitors. There are discussions about the practicality and implications of these rules, with suggestions for alternative testing protocols to make travel more feasible. The increasingly high costs of hotel quarantines and the limitations on commercial flights are significant concerns, particularly for those planning visits to places like Chiang Rai. Community insights suggest that these restrictions might be lifted once fewer travelers remain stranded abroad.

Actually, it could be made much easier and more cost-effective. Everyone who wants to go to Thailand should do several tests at home before departure, the first 14 days before departure, the second 1 day before departure. Then on arrival you will do another test with the condition that you have to stay in your hotel, house, apartment for the first few days until you have to do another test 5 days after arrival. This keeps the risk to a minimum and saves a lot of money. It's only my idea...but it could work well
Ok, you could work it out and make the test 72h before instead 24h and then you must stay at home until you fly. It's only a idea...wich can work it out. The most hospitals in europe give the result within 24h.

Just the rest of the people stranded abroad... when they are back, they will stop this 14 days quarantine in hotels (no more cows to milk) and offer quarantine at home... or their tourism industry is dead!

Currently there are signs on decent hotels I have stayed at in the past for 350 a night in Chiang Rai. That is nothing new. Every year for at least 10 years same signs. They disapear sometime in december & reaper some time in January. Do not book from wherever the hell yer fromCommi$$$$hion$ for the travel agent you knoe. 500B to 900B is more than neccesary More than that is Botiqueie... 2weeks at 500. you do the math.

The quarantine is only a... money maker pass on that
absolutely, will be lifted as soon as there is no more cows to milk (September) to allow quarantine at home! Option B, there is not a single hotel alive next Spring
allso heard that when the tourist is aloud back without quarantine you have to pay 500 baht at thai immigration at airport. As if they don't get enuff through other scams.
They want to encourage the wealthy elites with private planes or charter flights. A very small group but they get more bang for the buck and the groups will be small enough to monitor and control.
hi I been coming and going to Thailand for 14 years now my son is 12 years old I work a 3 weeks on 3 weeks off .and their hundreds and hundreds of guys like me in Thailand. So when you have to quarantine for 14 days. There's no option of coming back to see your family. So yes I read it.
. That's the infamous "Grace". Yes, I was trying to caution people about using this agency. I was amazed by the negativity from one guy, who was falling over himself to recommend them.
