Can someone make any sense of this. Little confused.
Single Entry Visa will be valid for 3 months from the date of issue. You must enter Thailand within the validity of visa. However, the permitted length of stay is up to 90 days from the date of your arrival in Thailand. Please carefully note the immigration stamp in your passport to make sure that you do not overstay your visa.
Does it mean I have 3 months to enter Thailand and then get the 90 days or its only valid for 3 months entirely

TLDR : Answer Summary
The Single Entry Visa for Thailand allows entry within 3 months of its issuance, after which travelers can stay for up to 90 days from their arrival. It's essential for applicants to understand that the 3-month validity is for entering the country, and the actual stay duration begins upon entry and is specified in the immigration stamp in the passport. Confusion may arise regarding the length of stay and the terms of expiration, but clear distinctions exist between visa validity and allowed duration of stay.
you have 90 days to get to Thailand to use it. depending on the visa type you get different lengths of stay. most are 60 days and you can extend another 30 days.
if you're not sure what length of stay your visa entities you to, then check the stamp, it will tell you the date it expires ... if you want to stay longer go to immigration and get it extended BEFORE the expiry date.
if you want to know all the details before you leave, then talk to the embassy/consulate that posted you the visa.

Easy: You must enter Thailand within 3 months from the date your visa was issued.
THEN you get 90 days to stay in Thailand.
The visa and the entry stamp are two different things, even though they are connected. ππ
You have 3 months to activate your visa.... Activation is done by passing through immigration and having your passport stamped. From that moment, you can be physically present in Thailand but must exit the country within the number of days allowed by your visa. For example, a single entry tourist visa has a activation validity of 90 days and an in country presence validity of 60 days.
he doesn't actually know what type of visa he has. "Visit family and friends TR visa" whatever that is. So, sounds like he has a SETV which is 60 days + 30. I suppose he could have got a non o marriage/Thai child ( 90 days) but I guess he would of mentioned that. Either way, 3 months to use it.
