If in case i apply for a single entry TR visa with a validity period of 90 days and I'll be granted a stay period of 60 days so if i would stay for 30 days in Thailand from the first day of the visa validity period and leave the country for 15 days, then apply for re-entry permit. Would i be granted 15 more days by the immigration or 45 more days as the total validity period of the visa is of 90 days?

TLDR : Answer Summary
When you enter Thailand with a single entry TR visa, you're granted a maximum stay of 60 days, and this stay period is all that matters when determining how much time you can spend in the country. If you leave Thailand before that 60-day period ends, the re-entry permit allows you to return without losing your original visa validity; however, it will not extend your total stay beyond the initial 60 days. If you're planning to stay for 30 days and then leave, consider entering visa-exempt instead to maximize your stay.

Besides all the other comments...

If you are planning to leave in 30 days, you may as well enter visa exempt. That gives you 30 days. Then you leave, and then you can reenter for a NEW 30 day exemption. Note you can extend the 30 day exemptions by 30 days at immigration.

I'm an Indian passport holder and we don't have visa exemption in Thailand.

Single entry is single entry.

You won't be granted any "more" days.

When you receive your stamp as you enter Thailand it shows how long you can stay which will be 60 days total. At that point your visa is used already and anything written on your visa doesn't matter.

The re-entry permit means that stamp isn't cancelled by your leaving Thailand. When you return your stamp is still exactly the same with the same date.

Sorry for my ignorance isn't a single entry tr exactly tat. You leave sa40 days after entering you lose it and cannot re-enter using the same visa?

@Phil *****
that's how every single entry visa, zero entry visa, and extension works. But that's what a re-entry permit exists for.

ok so you can re-enter on the same visa with the permit if you visit a neighbouring country

@Phil *****
no. The visa is done. You're entering on the same stamp you received from that now used up visa.

So, you mean they won't place a departure stamp on my passport?
Brandon ************
@Nishant ***********
they will. And they'll also give you a stamp when you return that's exactly the same stamp as you received the first time because your re-entry permit kept it alive

Oh, okay. So, do i need to go to the bureau of immigration at the airport while exiting and re-entering the country on a re-entry permit?
Brandon ************
@Nishant ***********
you need to go to the re-entry desk on your way out to purchase the re-entry permit. On the way back you don't do anything special.

Oh, can i get the re-entry permit at the local immigration office in Bangkok or Chiang Mai?

So, if I'd get it at the local immigration office, then i wouldn't need to get it at the re-entry desk situated in the airport, right?
