What are the best visa options for living in Thailand as an online teacher?

Hi and thanks for letting me be here :)

I've always wanted to finally end up living in Thailand or somewhere else in SE Asia after spending decades living in Hong Kong (I can still live there too). I'm just so confused as to how to do this based on my life situation. In a nutshell (from UK and now living here ) I have a home to sell eventually if it came to that ( or rent out while im checking Thailand out). I will continue working (online teacher) and I receive alimony monthly (if that matters lol).

Im not sure which route to take πŸ€”. Could anyone spell it out for me in simple terms please as to the best way to make this happen :) thanks 😊 πŸ™

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user seeks advice on relocating to Thailand for a new life after living in Hong Kong, while continuing their work as an online teacher and managing their UK home. Community responses suggest considering the DTV visa for remote work, renting out the UK home, and potentially spending some time in Thailand on a tourist visa before making a long-term commitment.

my ex rather pay me maintenance after our divorce rather than selling up etc.

Rent out your home. Especially before making a big move.

Suggestion is to come down and spend a few months before you fully commit.

You can easily live in Thailand on a tourist visa for less than 6 months.
