Alvin Peh yes I was in hk when I submitted. According to a visa agent, you can also submit it outside of hk. But when the visa approved, u will have to go to hk first, then enter Thailand to activate the visa.

We have a registered company at our host country.

@Graham ******
what do you mean? 😁 sorry I don’t understand your question.
Seb ********
No, that’s not considered remote work. You would be actively working in Thailand, sourcing from local suppliers. That’s not permitted under the DTV.

if you are earning Thai people money, DTV is not suitable for you. Instead, u need to get a working permit I think

@John ********
do you need the required amount for 3 months prior? Or is it just 3 months of bank statements and proof you can support your stay
John *********
@Ad**
I’m not sure. I think it’s 3 (and sometimes 6) months of statements. Varies by where you apply.

steps:

1️⃣. submitted the application as a digital nomad/freelancer in Hong Kong.

With the following documents:

- Reference letter written by the company, including company basic info, my position, job description, past and current projects, working location, period, and the company director's signature. (Note: I actually prepared the reference letter myself and then had the boss sign it.)

- Business registration certificate

- Updated portfolio of my freelance projects

- 4 months of bank statements showing I have THB500,000 in savings. (The website only required 3 months, but I provided 4 just to be safe. All 4 months showed I had more than the required amount.)

- Photo, identity card, and passport

Note: I didn’t buy the flight ticket, just put on the flight number. Thailand address I put condo name.

Status: Pending document check (1)

2️⃣. After 2 working days, I received an email asking me to upload further documents:

- 6 months of bank statements (All 6 months showed I had more than the required amount.)

Note: Fixed deposits count as liquid assets (in my case).

Status: Request for further documents

3️⃣. I uploaded the documents immediately.

Status: Pending document check (1)

4️⃣. 3 working days later, my application was approved.

I was notified by email, with the e-visa attached as a PDF file. The email said I should show the e-visa to the airline/immigration officer when I go to Thailand.

Further info: consulate receptionist said minimum 2-3 working days to check documents. And you should know the update status by the 7th working days.

That’s all. Hope it helps. Good luck!
