Which country should I choose to apply for a Thailand Digital Nomad visa, and what are the experiences of others?
Hi everyone,
I'm currently in Thailand and will need to leave the country in the next few days to apply for the DTV (Digital Nomad) visa from a nearby country.
For those who have successfully applied, which country did you choose and why? I'd love to hear about your personal experience.
- Which Thai embassy/consulate did you use?
- How long did the process take?
- Were they strict about documentation?
- Would you recommend that location to someone applying for the first time?
I'm considering nearby options such as Vietnam, Malaysia, Laos, Cambodia, Taiwan, Indonesia, or the Philippines, but I'm open to any recommendations.

I just got asked for an additional ’proof of savings’ for another month beyond the 3 months that is originally required for no reason at all.
The problem is, I have the monies, but pooled it into one set bank account for 3 months to meet the requirement then, after submitting, redistributed it to my several investment accounts which now gives me a huge gap of insufficient funds.
How can they suddenly pull the rug out when it’s not a law or even a requirement which screws up the entire move to Thailand already arranged next month?

This is general situation at the moment. Who applied since beginning of May nobody get approved yet no any results all month long.

The Vietnam e-visa is so unreliable that I have given up trying to understand them. Earlier this year, I made 2 applications for my mum and I - all the details were the same, except names & passport details. I got mine after a few days and my mother never got hers. No one picks up the phone numbers mentioned on their websites and they do not reply to emails....in the end, we had to pay an extra fee for a visa on arrival.

I have been pending approval for a week and a half. Vietnam visa expired so came to thailand, and will just let it cancel/reject if it needs to/do a border run if it eventually comes through.
