On a non o visa for first time. Expires 12 October however I want to stay until maybe February. Went to immigration with the wife (only Thai spoken) the wife says they want me to come back middle September for a covid visa for 2 months? And then they can extend after that. Does this sound about right?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The individual is seeking information on how to extend their Non-O visa expiring on 12 October while wishing to stay until February. They were informed by immigration that they should return in mid-September to apply for a COVID-19 visa extension for two months, and then they can possibly extend again thereafter. Respondents share various processes, including documentation required for the COVID-19 extension and subsequent family visit extensions, highlighting different immigration office requirements and recommendations for securing longer stays.

He might not have the money in the bank for a one year extension of stay based on marriage to a Thai national, or he might be one of those people who travels a lot

>Went to immigration with the wife

1. Which immigration office?

>says they want me to come back middle September for a covid visa for 2 months?

2. You will get a 60 day extension of stay based on unable to travel due to COVID-19.

Different immigration offices have different requirements, but all require the following:

1. Your passport and:

a. a copy of your data ("picture") page

b. a copy of your most recent visa (if you have one)

c. a copy of your most recent stamp

d. a copy of your departure card

2. A TM30, filed in the immigration office.

3. The forms (each immigration office may have different forms, and ant to use their special forms)

4. A letter from your embassy saying you can not return, OR a print out from your embassy website saying they don’t issue the letters, OR a print out of a letter from the embassy saying they don't issue those letters.

5. 2x passport pictures

6. 1,900 THB.

Different immigration offices have different policies. *SOME* may require:

- The ID card of the property owner where you are staying

- Copies of *ALL* stamped pages in your passport

>And then they can extend after that.

They may want you to get another 60 day extension of stay based on unable to travel due to COIVD-19 IF they are still being sold. Otherwise, they will want you to get a 60 day extension of stay based on visiting Thai Family.

1. Your passport and a copy of:

- Your data ("picture") page

- Your Non-O visa

- Your entry stamp

- Your departure card

2. Your wife PHYSICALLY next to you, and

- Her ID card and a copy of her ID card

- Her housebook, and a copy of the first page

3. Marriage certificate (either the rose border certificate, OR a translated copy from your home country)

4. The application form

5. 2x passport pictures

6. 1,900 THB for the processing fee.

Different immigration offices have different requirements, and this may include:

- A copy of the TM30 filed where you live

You can only get this extension of stay ONCE per entry.
