Fly if you want quick and don't mind to pay. Otherwise overnight sleeper bus is a good option. "North" bus station is on sukhomvit road at Pattaya Klang road intersection.

Get a taxi 🚕 to Utapao airport 45 minutes if u get chance visit Ban Chang for a night on the way always worth a laugh in the bars there 👍😜🍺

 it’s a great experience, all the food sellers coming in at stations & seeing all the countryside. Too cold with aircon but with fan is great. Great to travel amongst locals. I’ve done it many times

 Don't cheap outbound the sleeper train as it's fairly cheap anyways to get the best room on the train.

Bus or taxi to Suvarnabhumi, then flight to Chiang Mai. Viertjet Air is often affordable. Or, taxi or van to Utapao and then fly from there on Lion Air. But just one flight a day from Utapao.

If going to Suvarnabhumi, consider the Bell Travel bus; they'll pick you up at your hotel (or anywhere in town) and then take you to the big bus to the airport. Big bus takes about an hour and 45 minutes.

Taxi or van to Utapao takes about 45 minutes.
