When should I report my 90 days after returning from abroad on an OA visa in Thailand?

Hi There,

I'm on a OA visa extension till 01 October. I travelled abroad and came back on 16 August, using a re-entry permit. All when well...

Question:

My 90 days report, as notified by autorities before going abroad, is due on 26 August.

Should I use the date 26 August or should I consider 3 months after my re-entry on 16 August?

And, can it be done online or I have to show up at the immigration?

Thanks a lot.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The 90-day reporting requirement is based on 90 consecutive days of stay in Thailand. Since the user re-entered on 16 August, their 90-day reporting should be counted from that date, making it due approximately in mid-November. The first report after re-entry must be done in person, although future reports can potentially be completed online.

Interesting, but from recent experience …. Prior to leaving in February, i did my 90 day report and on the piece of paper inside it said when I had to do my next 90 day check in which was May. When I returned to Thailand in March, nothing changed. So I went to immigration in May and everything was done as normal. So did they allow me to do my 90 report a month early? 🤔

They missed your new entry stamp and just went by the 90 day report slip that was still in your passport

Your 90 day reporting will be due 90 days after you re-entered Thailand. You can either do it online or go to immigration and do it in person, entirely your decision.

not their decision. Official immigration policy is now that you must do it in person the first time after returning. Many people are getting rejected with this reason given

well Brandon looks like Phetchaburi immigration which services Cha-am didn’t get the memo, a lot of my friends who recently returned are still doing it online, with no problem at all, a friend of mine just done it three days ago. Me personally I always make the 5 minute drive and do it in person. But as normal each immigration office will interpret the rules and regulations differently.

There are 80+ Immigration Offices in Thailand and I think Brandon's advice addresses what will be required in the vast majority of them therefore it is not "your decision".

correct there are 88 offices, I was just stating what experience a few of my friends had recently upon returning to Thailand, they used the online service without a problem. As I mentioned I always go in person every 90 days, and besides each immigration office does not control the online functionality of the 90 day reporting site.

Then you could have told the group that it was your experience, based on using 1 named Immigration office.

You only do a 90 day report when you've been in Thailand for 90 CONSECUTIVE days. You left before that so you don't have a report coming up. You start counting again at day 1 when your return because it's only for 90 consecutive days in Thailand.

The current policy is you must file in person the first time after returning from outside the country.
