On the DTV application there is no way to even upload it. Also it is good to have it anyways if you get sick or you can pay a clinic or go to a Thai public hospital. ( I have done both )

Travel insurance is very good value for as long as you can get it for. After you've been overseas for a year, you won't be eligible any more. Get it while it's still available to you.
