ORIGINAL POSTER
Dutch Digital Nomad here - I'm applying for the DTV and I'm trying to understand if my personal AON travel insurance will cover me in Thailand. I'm guessing as long as I don't get injured at the actual office, it should be fine? I'd like to hear others' thoughts and experiences on this. Thanks!

TLDR : Answer Summary
A Dutch expat seeking information on the coverage of personal AON travel insurance while applying for a DTV visa in Thailand raised concerns about whether his insurance would be valid during his stay. Community responses varied, highlighting the necessity of understanding individual policy terms, particularly regarding duration of coverage and the specifics of living abroad rather than just traveling. Users also suggested alternative insurance options that might provide more suitable coverage for long-term stays.

What do you mean by ‘the actual office’?

Check the small print on your policy. Two things to watch for: period of cover and whether or not a return ticket is needed before you travel.

Look at True traveller.

Depending on what u need/age etc take a look at Genki. Wont work for everyone but does for me! €60 odd a month and can cancel at anytime and covers pretty much the same as the big boys. I have a referral code should you need

I think it would depend on the individual policy. Many travel insurance policies have a maximum number of days out of your home country. If you are planning to live in Thailand for several months, you should probably look for insurance coverage for residing in Thailand and not travel insurance. But again, it depends on your specific policy.
