What kind of health insurance do you recommend for the DTV?

Heard axa is a god company.

I have a statutory health insurance in Germany, which I will cancel as soon as I go to thailand.

Insurance should only last for 5 years, which should reduce the price.

Thanks for advise.

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user asks for recommendations for health insurance suitable for the DTV visa in Thailand, mentioning AXA as a potential choice. Various comments suggest other options like Pacific Cross and Genki for outpatient coverage, and Cigna Global for inpatient needs. A few commenters discuss concerns regarding whether health insurance is required for visa applications and share additional resources for insurance options in Thailand.

You may be better covered by a travel insurance, from your homecountry, since it includes repatriation and / or to get relatives to you, in case of severe illness / accident / death.

Health insurance is priced usually on a year to year and age/claim basis.

Do you need a insurance for the DTV visa? I mean to apply the don't ask, at least not in my case.

Someone know if immigration ask for an health insurance, when you enter into Thailand?

you don't need but you won't be able to leave Thailand before settling an hospital bill and trust me, it is very expensive on case of big accident to be taken care into the good hospitals

don't worry I have always an insurance, but I was courious if immigration ask it.

For example if you have a 1 year OA Visa, the health insurance is mandatory and immigration ask it when you enter. If your insurance cover only 3 months, they will give you only 3 months stamp in your passport.

Thats I want know if with DTV is the same.
