A quick one: Is insurance essential to be eligible for the DTV? I've always been the type to keep money squirrelled away for medical emergencies after crap experiences with insurance companies in the past.
Cheers all

TLDR : Answer Summary
The general consensus among commenters is that insurance is not explicitly required for the DTV visa (Digital Nomad Visa) in Thailand, although it's advised to have substantial savings for potential medical expenses. It's important to verify this information by checking with the Thai Embassy in your application country.
I don't think it's actually a requirement, although I'd say it probably should be? As I'm not aware of any tourist travel insurance which would come close to covering that amount of time.
To the op, I'd certainly want a very large stash put away to cover potential medical costs,, could be hundreds and hundreds of thousends?

Did you check the Thai Embassy website in the country you will be applying through to see if they require it?
