TLDR : Answer Summary
When applying for a DTV visa in Hanoi, it's generally not necessary to provide detailed proof of where you will be staying in Thailand. Most commenters suggest that as long as you have the required documents for the application, you can simply fill in the address of your accommodation. One user shared their experience of including a letter from their family member along with a photo and scans of their passport, which contributed to their application being processed quickly. Overall, the emphasis is on ensuring all required documentation is submitted.
Where you'll be staying in Thailand is the least of your concerns in the application.

I applied while staying at a family members home in Jakarta and in my application I included a letter from them stating that I would be residing there until my visa was processed, along with a photo of us in front of the home and scans of all my passport pages including blank pages to show my location. I was approved in 4 business days.

You do not need to prove who youre staying with as long as you have all the documents they actually ask for, when asking for your accommodation just fill in the address of where you stay
