TLDR : Answer Summary
The Visa on Arrival (VOA) in Thailand is generally not extendable. It allows for a stay of 14 days, with no option for extension. However, nationals from certain countries eligible for a visa exemption may receive a 30-day stay, which can be extended for an additional 30 days at a local Immigration Office for a fee.

Everything should be dropped by july … finally the scamdemic will be over

It's best to stay away from Thailand until they wake up and remove the games

2 countries get 14 day visa waiver entries when tehy show up wtihout a visa and it 𝗰𝗮𝗻𝗻𝗼𝘁 be extended for 30 days

AND

18 countries BUY a 15 day Visa On Arrival when they show up here for 2000baht at passport control and it 𝗰𝗮𝗻𝗻𝗼𝘁 be extended for 30 days.

Hi
@T**
. Sorry, but still one question for me remains. Can those VOA people ask for an extension, which is denied ofcourse, but then still get the "7 days to leave the country" stamp ? Thx !

@Peter ***************
anyone can do that from any extension or entry stamp 🙂

Assuming you're American, you will get a 30 days exemption which you can extend 1 time for another 30 days at your local Immigration Office for 1,900 thb.

Hi Olivier, been to Thailand many times but for unforeseen circumstances I will be traveling with only a 30 visa exemption from Australia! When you speak about extending for another 30 days at your local Immigration office, does that mean I can do this in any Province at their Immigration Office ? Is it a straight forward process?

T.I.A 🙏🏼
Olivier *********
@Brad *********
your local Immigration Office is where your TM30 is made.

Assuming you're a national from the 64 countries listed above, yes, it's a very easy process, 1 form to fill (TM7), add a picture and pay the fee, wait for your request to be processed and go away with your extension stamped in your passport.

I did mine in Bangkok and needed....

Copy of data page of passport

Copy of stamped page of passport

Copy of my TM6

Copy of TM30

1 x passport size photo

1900baht cash

Completed the TM7 at the office

Took 45 minutes from when I arrived but can get busy

do some Googling. It depends on the agreement that they signed with Thailand

<yawn>. I know but I’m not wasting my time listing every single one like Mr Obsessive Personality Disorder you. ‘Over 50’ is good enough for me. Please don’t try to come over as an expert, Mr ‘I’ve been here 6 months and know it all’.

Now disappear and do some growing up for the next 5 years.

thanks for the lecture, professor,but please be aware that it is unlikely Mr O'Brien has experience with any of the other 49.

If the OP weren't American he could ask "what about (insert country here)?" And someone else would likely respond.

15 days for VoA, not extendable and costs money on arrival.

30 days for visa exemption (and nothing to pay when you arrive) and extendable for a further 30 days for 1,900 baht.

what if Visa free? Not VOA?

@An *****
Thanks, would you mind to explain the prozess a bit more detailed?
Paul *******
@An *****
If Immigration put a stamp in your passport for "visa exempt" for 30 days then you can extend at an Immigration office for a further 30 days at a cost of 1,900 baht. After that you may or may not be able to get a Corvid extension depending on your circumstances and the Immigration office.
Back ******
@Paul ******
different question:

Can you if you com in with the 'visa exempt', could you change this in the country to a 'Nom-O' based on Family?

My Non-O extension (I had for several years) expired last month as I could not be back in Time...
Paul *******
@Back *****
Yes. That is possible.

you can do 30 day extension 1900 baht, then 60 day extension 4000 baht, just did my 60 day today, then you can do 15 month retirement visa

easy now, you could have gotten your own covid extension for 1900baht like thousands of people have done without handing your passport and 4K baht to an agent 🙁

they are asking about a 30 day extension on a visa exempt entry stamp.

Enlighten me there
@Martin ******
what part of the "I paid 4000 for a covid extension and can get a 15 month retirement visa/extension for 25K" is relevant to their question?

Here I'll refresh your memory, this is what they asked

why use an agent to get your 30 day extension? It’s as simple as pie to do yourself.

Unless you can’t be arsed or don’t know how to get to CW yourself, of course.

if you don’t mind can you share which agent are you using? That would be a big help for me
