 I did it straight away, bluport is a pain in the ass though, go to the main immigration office, they are great down there

 just go a week or so after you arrive at Hua Hin and you'll be fine

Most offices you can apply for an extension when you have 30 days or less, (Samui and Jomtien want you to wait until you have a week left on the current stamp)
