Iโm travelling to Thailand (from Bulgaria) in a week, my tourist visa is still pending though.
Can someone tell me if I can take Visa on arrival for 15 days and then apply for an extension? (I know that last year it was not possible but Iโm wondering if there is any change)
Thanks!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The traveler from Bulgaria inquired about the possibility of entering Thailand with a visa on arrival (VOA) for 15 days and subsequently applying for an extension. The responses clarified that while a 15-day VOA can be obtained upon arrival for a fee of 2000 baht, it cannot be extended. There's only a limited option for a 7-day extension in case of a pending application for an extension, but this is not a standard extension process. If the tourist visa gets approved later, the traveler could exit and re-enter Thailand to activate the tourist visa for 60 days.
right, it's NOT an extension it's an "application for extension not approved" and it gives you 7 days from the date you apply to get out of the country.
Bummer they were told that but they certainly could have gotten that 7 day get out of dodge stamp for 1900baht
I know but you know as well as I that many people talk about VOA in error for visa exemption. I wasn't aware that Bulgarian passport qualified for VOA. ๐
