TLDR : Answer Summary
You can extend your Visa on Arrival once for 30 days at the immigration office in Thailand. However, while you can engage in border bouncing to obtain new stays, it is generally recommended to apply for the appropriate visa before arriving in Thailand to avoid complications. According to current rules, you can do two 30-day visa exempt entries by land and extend once for tourism.
The rule of TWO 30 day visa exempt entries by land in a calendar year is still in effect, SO if you come in 30 day visa exempt by air, extend that for 30 more days, you could bounce by land TWO times if you wanted to ๐
I found your post on landborders. My apologies. Thanks for the public service you offer. Much appreciated.

I guess you mean you want to enter using the 30 day Visa Exempt Entry, than apply for an 30 day Extension of Stay based on tourisme and than start doing border bouncing to get new stays. Why not make life easy and apply for the correct visa depending on purpose and length of stay before you make your way into Thailand.
An Entry without any visa can only be extended once on basis of tourism.
