TLDR : Answer Summary
The visa on arrival in Thailand, which allows for a stay of 15 days, cannot be extended. Some immigration offices might offer a chance to apply for an extension, but typically, these requests are denied, and you may receive a stamp that requires you to leave within 7 days.

No visa on arrival cannot be extended. Some offices will allow you to apply for an extension, but will deny it and give you a stamp to leave within 7 days. Whether you interpret this as a 7 day extension is up to you.

There was some media speculation on that but I don’t think it’s official. Do you have a link to somewhere to say it is?
