If you come back from abroad and you were previously registered under TM30 as a resident do you need to renew it? I heard it is no longer required.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The consensus in the community regarding the TM30 requirement upon returning to Thailand is mixed. Officially, since June 30, 2020, you do not need to renew your TM30 registration if you are returning to the same address where it was previously filed, provided you traveled with a multiple-entry visa or a re-entry permit. However, individual immigration offices may have different practices, and some expatriates report being told they must register each time they return. It's advisable to check with your specific immigration office for the most accurate guidance.

The official policy since 30 June 2020 is that you do not need a new TM-30 as long as (1) you are returning to your previous address where you already filed a TM-30, and (2) you traveled using either a multiple entry visa or a re-entry permit. Whether your particular immigration office follows that official policy is a different question...

Depends on the office you use. Some don’t care as long as your address hasn’t changed. Some want you to do it if you left the country and returned. If you say which office others may confirm their policy. Otherwise you’ll have to ask them directly.

I asked this before and (like many things) depends on your IO. I am in Pattaya. I went to the Jomtien office before I left and asked this question. I told them I am coming right back to that same condo. They said “you must do every time.”

In the past you would enter under a new TM6 number so it was needed. Now the TM6 has been dropped (hasn't it?) this may no longer be the case if at the previously registered address.

Still need to do it when you return.
