The conversation discusses the uncertainty surrounding a proposed 300 baht arrival fee for travelers to Thailand, with comments suggesting that any changes are likely delayed by at least three years due to the strong Thai Baht and skepticism about whether the fee will be implemented at all. There are concerns that announcements about such fees often lead to public panic despite lacking concrete implementation plans.
The original post I read said "maybe December or maybe as late as June/July. Thailand always throws out these "trial balloons" that are only concepts, and people panic and think it's happening "now". The 300 baht arrival fee has been tossed around for years, and now it's in the news again, but nothing more than vapor so far.
As expected! I was debating this with a few people in another post. I was right all along. This is Thailand, ETA probably 3 more years, lol! The THB is too strong atm, it was never gonna happen anytime soon.
