TLDR : Answer Summary
The conversation discusses recent changes to Thailand's immigration card process, which has consolidated the arrival and departure forms. While some users express skepticism about whether these changes will actually speed up the immigration lines at airports, others believe it could lead to cost savings and efficiency. There’s also confusion over the necessity of filling out the forms, with mentions of a bar code and previous procedures. Concerns are raised regarding the usability and effectiveness of the new card in practice.

I don't see how this new form (which is still a form that hasta be filled out) is gonna speed up the line at the immigration counter when you're stamped in.

The last few times I landed here by plane in 2014, none of them had immigration cards, had to get them just before getting in line at the checkpoints. This further increased the delay as everyone was filling them out while standing in line, rather than at the small counters set up there.

Isnt this a new arrival card without the TAT Q&A that you were never actually required to fill in?

Steve I think someone is listening to you, they have added the Q&A on the back already!

No, It now has both departure and arrival on the front page instead of two separate pages. The example from January on Immigration website shows no TAT Q&A. I am not sure if this will be the final form though, they may add the Q&A to the back before full rollout.

I guess it's a cost saving initiative because this is one piece of paper and the other was 2 pieces....just like when they stopped using staples to staple the tm6 to your passport page, they must have saved lots of money
