My wife, two small children and I moved to Thailand two weeks ago. I want to apply for the DTV visa. I meet all the requirements. I read that every family member needs to apply but do I need to travel to Laos/Cambodia with my entire family or is it possible to go alone and provide their passports along with all the necessary documents?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The applicant is seeking clarification on whether a family of four must travel together to Laos or Cambodia for DTV visa applications, as they recently moved to Thailand. Comments confirm that each family member must be present for the application process, as their identities need to match their passports. While there may be exceptions via agents, it is generally recommended that the entire family travels together. Additionally, some commenters advise that the applicant may need to visit the immigration office multiple times, as dependents might need to apply separately based on the primary DTV holder's status.

At least wait until your current visa runs out.

There are still so many unresolved questions about the DTV, which need to be solved.

You might even have to go twice. First you, to obtain your DTV. Then again for your spouse to apply based of off you being a DTV holder, then. But unclear at this point. May work in one go. I am not sure the children are entitled to a DTV - did the law mention children or only spouses? Also, be prepared to have to show financial proof covering each of them separately.

Maybe you can not but I think agents can. But just maybe. I went to immigration once with me and my girls passports she was sick in the hotel so they said no she had to be there and behind me was an agent with like 10 passports and I asked how this was possible and they said he was an agent so ? I'd just have a Thai person call and ask

The world outside the American continent is beautiful, more interesting and far more developed. For starters, try Pudding in Shanghai or Singapore .. or Dubai.
