TLDR : Answer Summary
The user mistakenly believes their Non-O spouse visa does not allow for their planned stay in Thailand. However, the comments clarify that the visa is valid for entry until a specific date, after which the 90-day stay begins upon entering the country. As long as they enter Thailand before the visa's expiration date of October 9, 2024, they will be permitted a stay of 90 days from the date of entry, accommodating their planned stay until November 29, 2024.

I concur with Tod. I think what you were wondering is why they did not give you Sept 1, your intended arrival date, as the validity start of your Visa. I did the same thing. I applied on July 16 and put Sept 1 as my intended arrival. When they released the VISA, they put July 17 as the start date of my VISA expiring 90 days after. I think the start date is when the VISA is released. Had I known, I would have delayed applying for the VISA.

the visa is valid for 90 days from the date they issue it and that has nothing at all to do with your intended arrival date to thailand.

As long as your arrival date is within that 90 day window you're fine.

You get stamped in the same amount of days even if you arrive the last day the visa is valid for.

The validity of the visa is only the time you have to ENTER thailand

You get 90 days after entering. What you're confused with is the period you can enter within, which happens to be the same number of days for that visa.

As long as you enter Thailand before 9th October. You will get 90 days from when you enter

I think you're a little confused about how that works

The Non-O visa is valid 90 days from the date they issue it. So in your case it was issued on 10 july and valid until 9th of oct.

You have from 10th July to the 9th of Oct to ENTER thailand and when you do you will be stamped in for 90 days (even if you entered on the 9th of Oct you'd still get the 90 days that visa allows you)

So entering on Sept 1st will get you stamped in until Nov 29th. Your travel plans will work fine

Just curious, what embassy did you apply at that gave you a "sticker visa" most embassies in the west are eVisa where you apply online

(y) I almost asked if you did it in S/A thru VFS ๐Ÿ˜› ๐Ÿ™‚

Yep, the way the process is set up you apply thru them get approved then go to get the sticker visa stuck in ๐Ÿ™‚

Congrats you got the visa, you're good with your travel plans and will have no issue at all entering or getting your 90 day entry stamp
