Hello everyone,
I am a U.S. citizen, my wife is Thai. We have a flight booked to Thailand arriving in Bangkok on January 2nd 2022. Our return trip is scheduled to leave Thailand on May 18th 2022. In previous years when we went to Thailand I purchased a 60 day Tourist Visa then got a 30 day extension and sometimes made a visa run to get more time. This year I would like to purchase a 90 day single entry Non O visa because I have a Thai wife. Then get the 12 month extension of stay while in Thailand and get a re entry permit before we leave. Then when we go to Thailand again in December 2022 the extension would still be valid. So I would not need to get a new Visa to travel to Thailand next year. Is this a viable plan? Or am I missing something?
Sorry for the lengthy question.
Thank you so much for all your great advice.
TLDR : Answer Summary
The question outlines a U.S. citizen's plan to secure a 90-day Non O visa due to marriage to a Thai national, followed by obtaining a 12-month extension of stay and re-entry permit, allowing for travel back to Thailand the following December without needing a new visa. Community responses affirm the plan's viability, noting the necessity of meeting financial requirements related to the extension.
