What are the implications of leaving Thailand with an OA visa before its expiration date?

Can I just confirm my understanding:

I have an OA-Visa valid Oct 15 2021 to Oct 14 2022. (issued Australia including re-entry)

I arrived Thailand 18 November 2021 with 12 months to 8 November 2022. (The odd 8 November date is because of insurance issues at time of issue).

I want to go out of Thailand and return before the relevant date to get another 12 months on the *original visa*.

I want to go briefly mid September, so I understand I will get another 12 months assuming I have relevant insurance to September 2023, and Thai Pass, and any other new requirements etc)

I also want to travel out of Thailand October 13-20 2023. This return date is after the date of the *original visa* end date.

If I ALREADY have the new date of September 2023, am I correct that

(a) it is still multi-entry for this new period, and

(b) the original visa date of Oct 14 2022 is no longer relevant, and that the effective visa end date is STILL September 2023 (based on the exit in September 2022)?

Thanks.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user seeks confirmation on the implications of exiting Thailand with an OA visa that is due to expire soon. Their understanding is that upon leaving before the visa's expiration, they can obtain a new 12-month stay under certain conditions related to insurance and immigration policies. Comments indicate that while they can receive the new stay duration, the original visa's multiple-entry provision will no longer apply after expiration; they must obtain a re-entry permit before leaving if they wish to return and keep their stay valid.

Non-OA visa includes multiple entries, NOT multiple RE-entry.

Until 14 October, you can enter for a new 1-year stay.

But if you want to back after 14 Oct, you need to get a re-entry permit BEFORE you leave to keep your stamp 'alive'.

Multiple entry Non-OA expires on 14 Oct. Your Admitted-until stamp is NOT a visa.

No. Once your visa expires the multi entry portion of it also expires. But you can go to immigration inside Thailand before leaving and obtain a multiple re-entry permit which will keep the permitted to stay stamp alive for its duration

You're only gonna get stamped in for a full year (or as long as your insurance is good for) up to Oct 14 2022 <- That's the important date when you're looking to get another year stamp

So you need to either change the date you are traveling so you come BACK with new insurance BY Oct 14th 2022

OR

Accept that the year stamp you will get when you come in back in Sept 2022 is gonna be the stamp you will keep "alive" and BUY a re-entry permit before you leave in Oct 2022.

That way when you come back (from the Oct trip) you'll get stamped in until the expiration of the Sept entry stamp (Sept 2023) <- and that will be your end date going forward

Multiple entry is only valid for your initial OA visa. You will need a reentry permit on any extension of stay stamp

If you arrive before 14 Oct 2022 (valid until date of the Non Immigrant O-A visa) and you have a valid insurance for 1 year you get a new 1 year of stay stamped in your passport.

BUT this stay is NOT a multiple entry stay as your visa is not valid anymore.

If you like to travel during that period, you need a single or multiple re-entry permit and get the same Admitted to stay date on return (as you think Sep 2023)
