Hi, the Muay Thai visa, is my 17 year old son eligible or too young? Also, if he can do it, would I be granted a visa alongside him being his parent/legal guardian? Thanks for any advice.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The Muay Thai visa, specifically the DTV, requires applicants to be at least 20 years old, meaning your 17-year-old son would not be eligible. Additionally, as his parent or legal guardian, you would not be granted a guardian visa simply based on his application for the Muay Thai visa, as guardian visas are typically only available for children attending regular schools.

In Thailand, children under 18 years old are not subject to fines or bans for overstaying their tourist visas. While they may receive an overstay stamp in their passport, it doesn't typically lead to any further penalties or restrictions on future visits.

One needs to be at least 20 years old to qualify for a DTV.

Plus, I'm pretty sure you could not be a dependent. Dependents are spouses and the applicant's children under 20 years of age.

Too young, and no you wouldn't.

I'm not sure about the age thing, but you would not be granted a guardian visa. Those are only for children attending regular school. Informal school does not confer any additional visa benefits.
