I wouldnt take the chance, make a TagThai account and get a Pay&Tour card from K Bank. It'll give you the ability to pay using QR codes. If you are desperate for a Thai bank account then use a reputable agent to help but you need to accept that the likelihood is eventually it will get closed.
I wouldn’t trust holding large amounts of money in one! Close your account.. good luck trying to get it back.. especially if it’s opened on false intention
Do nit waste your time with these parasites, no bank accounts for tourist visa DTV visa exempt, at some point a bank audit or alert bank employee will close it
When the bank does their next audit, and they do them regularly, you can lose your account, and have it closed. The only time it might not happen is when you use the same agent to get your visa.
BrightCaterpillar2269 They all will eventually. This isn’t a local sensibilities thing, the WEF is pushing Thailand to clean up the banking sector. They all do regular Know Your Customer processes which is a form of international AML/CTF and has international standards and expectations, not a local made up thing. KYC will always turn up that you are not on a qualifying visa and get your account closed. So what actually happens if you manage to sneak a bank account through a dodgy agent working with a dodgy teller is, you’ll try to use your app or card one day (anything from days to months after opening, but almost certainly within a year) and neither will work, and the app will say you have to come into a branch to re-present your passport and other identification. Either you do it and they see you’re not on an allowed visa and close your account, or you don’t and they close your account.
