I need to cancel an expired WP. This needs to be done at the Labor Dept. Then I assume the same day go to Immigration and cancel the VISA. AND then.... leave the country........ Is this even possible in Thailand? OR Can the Visa be canceled at the Airport. It's a Non B Visa, with 2 Dependent Visas. Any advice is welcome!!!!!

TLDR : Answer Summary
To cancel an expired Work Permit (WP) and Non B visa in Thailand, you need to visit the Ministry of Labour for the work permit and the Immigration Office to cancel the visa. Both actions must be completed as the immigration office cannot process these cancellations at the airport. It’s also advised to ensure that extensions for dependents are canceled, particularly if they are linked to the main visa holder.

@Katy ******
then you're going to run the risk of having an extension of stay that wasn't canceled properly in your passport and IF you ever come back here to work again they're going to see it when you apply for a new extension and they will most likely fine you for failing to follow the procedure.

You cancel work permits at the Ministry of Labour, you cancel extensions at the immigration office that issued it.

WP from the Department of Labor. Extension of Stay was from One Stop Shop. They Originally said no, and sent us to Changwattana. Changwattana said to go back to One Stop. Its not a battle I can fight any longer. I'm leaving on Sunday.
Robert *******
And with this I mean the One Stop Service for BOI companies, or your employer applied at the Ministry of Labor and you applied for the Extension of Stay at the One Stop Service for BOI companies or at Cheang Wattana Immigration Office?
Robert *******
From where did you get the Work Permit and the Extensions of Stay?

So anyone else in this situation, I suggest dig and dig and dig for answers.

Believe it or not..... One Stop Shop, Changwattana, and the Immigration Office at the Airport would do absolutely nothing. They all said "we dont know what to do" This is after going to OSS, and Changwattana, and calling both locations twice. And calling Immigration at the airport. It astounding no one had a clear answer. The only advice I got was... "Leave"

You could face some problems, as the work permit is already expired, so you are not allowed to work and stay inside Thailand since your last day of working.

You are totally at the mercy of the officer on the day, no other advice can help. Hopefully you can pay the fine and get the 7 day "get out" extension.

I'm aware of this, and it worries me.

It MIGHT be far worse than that.

This is what I figured. So I guess it'll be chaotic day for sure.

I think you are in a world of hurt. I don't think they will even give you the 7 days. Over 2 weeks is a long overstay.

It is over the 15 day period of time.

How long ago did the work permit expire ?
Robert *******
Visit the Ministry of Labor, cancel the WP, than with their documents visit the Immigration Office to cancel the Extensions of Stay. If you can not travel directly apply for a new Extension of Stay, which would be not approved and get 7 days to leave the country. But this needs cooperation of the Immigration Officer.

I understand this. I'm trying to get this resolved.

Yes, they don't tear out pages of your passport after a Visa gets invalid. So you stay inside Thailand on an Extension of Stay and you are correct this needs to be cancelled at the Immigration Office before you leave Thailand. It can not be done on the airport. If the Extensions of Stay of dependents are depending on the person who holds the Non Immigrant B visa, these also have to be cancelled.

We have both. Original Sticker Issued in the states. Extension of stay issued yearly

Big question is do you have a visa or an Extension of Stay, check the difference in your passport with these examples:
