When I cancel my work permit and non-B visa extension, do I have to cancel visa extension in immigration or can I cancel it in airport custom while I leave the country? If I don’t cancel visa extension in immigration, will it affect my next Non-B visa extension and next work permit application?

Asking because my flight time is too tight to cancel both before departure time.

TLDR : Answer Summary
When canceling your work permit and non-B visa extension, it's recommended to handle the cancellation at the immigration office rather than the airport customs, as failing to do so may complicate future visa applications. It's better to act proactively by getting a termination letter from your employer and canceling your visa and work permit in advance.

Speaking from my personal experience, if you don't cancel your extension before leaving, it WILL be a pain in the arse to get a new one when you return.

Why not make a new topic, so the information you get can be checked and all members can learn from it.

Hey Kari, can I PM you for some questions about this? Am in a similar situation..

You do not have to wait till the last possible second to cancel. If you know you stop working, ask a letter from your employer stating the day you stop and cancel your WP and Extension of Stay in advance.

If you wait till the last day, you have to leave that day.

Just as example: You stop working on 30 September 2018, you take the letter from your company tomorrow, 04-09-2018 to the Ministry of Labor and they cancel your WP on 30 September, than you visit Immigration Office and they change your Extension permitted until date into 30 September.
