TLDR : Answer Summary
The consensus in the comments suggests that if your passport is stamped for January 15, it is acceptable to fly out on the same day without incurring an overstay. Travelers must ensure they pass through immigration before midnight (11:59 PM) on January 15 to avoid any issues. Overstays of one day typically result in a fine, but many users report that fines for one-day overstays are often waived, showing variability in enforcement.
no you can fly out on the 15th. if you stay past that date its an overstay

Ask if 15 mean 14, ask customs man, do 15 = 14, he may tell you correct answer.

Just before h 23:59 or 11:59 pm of the last day you have available is OK. If you have to count the days exactly, just grab a calendar and count the days keeping in mind that the day you had entered counts as day one even if you had entered late at night. That's day one and the last day will be the day of your departure so you need to include also that one.

15th or before.......👌

You can even fly out on the 16th as long as you go through passport control before midnight. I did this once without problems.

I got 1 day overstay. Paid for 1 day over. Came in on a late flight and out on early flight. Doesn’t matter. 11 pm arrival counts as a day and 7 am departure counts as full day. 90 days means 90 days. Not 3 months.
Stuart *********
Even if you leave on 16th - no issue in that you havent technically overstayed until midnight on 16th. you might get a little message on your exit stamp - but no issues
wouldn't you be banned to enter the country again after that much of an overstay?

I went through immigration before midnight on the last day of my stamp. But because my flight wasn’t scheduled to depart until 2 am the next morning, immigration claimed it was an overstay but they did not fine me.
Arriving 15th January and leaving 15th March is 60 days (Thai immigration count day of arrival and day of departure as two days). Providing you leave before midnight it's not an overstay
Joe ******
Only cost you 500 baht for 1 day over stay no big deal no problem
If you mean that you arrived jan 15th, got 60 days visa exemption and are planning to leave march 15th you will be on day 63, so 3 days overstay, they count day of arrival and day of departure.
You're right. 17 days in January + 28 days in February + 15 days in March. I counted myself and I agree with you. Don't trust AI like I did at first. Fuck AI 😂Took it for granted that AI could answer such a simple question 🫣 Tip for AI. Ask in English and not your own language. It will give more correct answers, so I learned something today that I haven't thought about before.
problem with AI is that it count 24 hours as one day, actually not a problem, AI does it right, it is thai immigration that counts it wrong. But we just have to accept the way they choose to do it.
When you know how Thailand counts days it's not a problem. As I said, the AI is made in English and it was the AI's way of interpreting my language that was the problem. I don't think Thailand counts strangely when we know that it's the number of days you stay in the country that counts and there's no reason for the day of arrival to be different.
For someone who’s travelling from one country to another I’m surprised they allowed you on a plane if you don’t have the mental capacity to work out when the 15th ends
The guy is just asking for advice... WHY the attitude ?
Shea *******
You can tell that all these people are just old men who don’t travel, quite a few countries want you gone before the stamped date, that date is when you need to leave before, not on. It’s a perfectly valid question.
I was fined for a single day coverage when obtaining my 30 day extension. But that may not be the same as being at the airport and how that is handled.
weird. I had made a mistake with my booking and found out when i got my extension. I asked if im leaving the afternoon the day after the date if it would be a problem and the answer was “1 day is no problem” i did get called aside at the airport explained the situation and all was good 🤷🏻♂️
always possible. But you might have annoyed somebody. Most one day overstays get waiver of fine and an overstay stamp that indicates that. I had one day twice and both waived. One at BKK, the other by land at Chiang Khong
