What should I do if I'm facing a visa overstayed situation in Thailand due to incorrect flight booking?

Uk passport arrived this morning 5.30am 22/10/25

Just noticed as I am racing to catch my connecting flight that I've only been stamped in until the 20/12/25. I've checked and that's only 59 days. My return flight is the 20/01/26 which with the 30 day extension leaves me a day short when I legitimately shouldn't be. What are my options? Going back to the desk isn't one ,as I'm now sat on my connection .

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user received their UK passport but noticed their entry stamp allows them to stay in Thailand until December 20, 2025, which conflicts with their return flight on January 20, 2026. Community responses clarified that the stamp is valid for 60 days from the arrival date, and extending the stay for an additional 30 days can start on the date of the current stamp expiration. They were advised that as long as they pass through customs before midnight on the day before their flight, they will not incur any fines for overstaying. Users noted that an overstay of fewer than 24 hours is generally waived from penalties.

and at this point I would imagine that Peter Williams understands how that "60 day free entry" stamp (visa exempt) works

thanx one and all and safe travels for Peter (y)

Get to the airport and pass through customs prior to midnight the day before your flight.

... that will only work if it's an early AM flight and the check-in is open to allow you to pass through immigration (not customs)

you can checkin online or at a kiosk both within 24 hours. No need for an am flight. (Almost every flight out to western Europe and N and S America are pm flights.)

What time is your flight out? If you have an early AM flight and clear immigration before midnight on the 19th, you're ok, no fine, no stamp for 1 day overstay.

... his 30 days extension starts from 21 Dec as the 20th is day 60 of the visa exempt entry.

The good news for you, is that when you fly out an overstay of under 24 hours does not get a fine. So you'll be fine.

You will get a Thai language overstay stamp in you passport but it will say, overstay under 24 hours fine waived

The day you stamp in is counted as day one no matter what time you stampp in.

You got the correct stamp you just didn't count correct when you booked your flight out.
