My girl friend is Cambodian but she has a work permit to be in Thailand. We are both in England now and she is on a 6 month UK tourist visa. We have a 6 month old baby who is a british citizen and my girl friend and baby will return to Thailand after 6 months. I will stay in England for an extra 2months. so my girl friend and baby will go to Thailand alone. Does my baby need tourist visa? as some people say my baby I should get a 60 day toursit instead of the free 30 day visa on arriva, and the immigration do not charge babys for overstaying on 60 day tourist visas? As by the time we leave thailand again my baby will have been there 3 or 4 months. please advise

TLDR : Answer Summary
The baby, being a British citizen, may enter Thailand on a tourist visa or the visa-exempt stamp for 30 days. Although children under 15 are not fined for overstaying, having a legal status for longer stays is advisable, especially if the plan includes living in Thailand. For short visits, the standard entry options should suffice.

If your wife has a b visum the baby can felloe on her visum. The fact that children under 15 can not be fined, doesn,t mean she don't need a visa

As Biff says, there are no fines or bans for under-15s who overstay. They do get an overstay stamp in their passport though. If the baby will be living long-term in Thailand it might be better to legal but if it's short-term as you plan to settle in the UK (or Cambodia?) it's unlikely to be an issue.

Babies don’t get fined or prosecuted in any way however they enter Thailand. Could be a tourist visa or the 30 day visa exempt stamp.

Long term, you should establish a legal status for your child if you intend for them to live in Thailand, probably on the back of your girlfriend’s status there, but if you’re just going for a visit then any entry status will do.
