I just got a 30 days extension in Koh Samui and the immigration officer said that my baby needs to make an extension too and pay 1,900 baht. I’m confused as I thought children until 7 years of age have automatically the same visa as their parents. Any advice what I should do ?

TLDR : Answer Summary
In Thailand, children do not automatically receive the same visa as their parents. If you have recently extended your visa, your child will also need to apply for an extension and pay the associated fee. Although children under 15 cannot be fined for overstaying, it is advisable to follow the legal procedures to avoid complications.

NO, people do not get automatically the same visa.

The baby needs a Visa, but people do choose many times to avoid a visa and let the children go into overstay.

This because children until the age of 15 years can not be fined.

No, children do not get the same visa automatically, however there is no punishment for a child to go into overstay until they are 15, and the fine is waived automatically.
