Can someone set me straight. I own a house here with no address or book and a lifelong lease on the land, the officers in my area know me so the house address thing isnt an issue. I left the country for 2 weeks and returned, I went to do my 90 day report and forgot to do a TM30 when I got back so I added that and they seemed very confused, I explained I went out of the country. Aren't I supposed to do it anytime I come back home from traveling? What if I stay at a hotel somewhere else a few nights and return back home, do I need to do one again? So confused with this now. Thanks in advance.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The requirement for submitting a TM30 form upon returning to Thailand can vary by local immigration office. Generally, it's advised to submit a TM30 if you have traveled out of your province or if you are unsure about your local office’s policy. Some offices may state that if you are returning to the same address, it may not be necessary to submit a new TM30. It is recommended to check with your local immigration office for specific requirements.

My local office has told me twice now "no need for tm30 if still same address as before". I'm sure it's different everywhere. (The new Petchaburi office)
That is what you need to talk with your local immigration office well. The policy for TM30 registration varies by office. Some require you to submit TM30 every time you travel abroad. You need to do this only when travelling inter-provinces at some offices. Etc etc. No one rule fits all offices.
We advise re-submit Tm30 every time travel out of the province, domestic or international, IF you are not sure the policy in your province and want to take the safe side rather than talk with your immigration office.
